North Wales Wedding Venues
We’ve played across the country in fields, hotels, bars and many more. Whilst the venue is less important than the people the big day is for, they can still make a difference. If you are looking to hire a North Wales wedding band, here are some of the venues that stuck out for us.
Tyn Dwr Hall - Llangollen
Tyn Dwr hall sits opposite an amazing view of Castell Dinas Bran in Llangollen. It’s one of those venues that feels like you can get lost in and has a surprise around every corner. We’re back there again this year and we are sure that it will live up to our previous visits.
The Band Verdict
Acoustics - Lots of hard, flat surfaces so somewhat challenging for us. With a brand new, modern pa system, however, we are able to handle this with ease!
Dance floor space - Plenty of room with a separate dining area, meaning there is quiet space for anyone who needs to take a breather from partying.
Sound limiter - if there is one, we didn’t encounter it so not one to worry about.
The Quay - Deganwy
A modern venue set along the banks of the river Conwy. As far as settings go, few venues can top The Quay! By the time the band starts the sun is usually setting over the sea with balcony allowing guests to take in the view.
The Band Verdict
Acoustics - A large room with low ceilings and carpet. Ideal for controlling the sound.
Dance floor space - Lots and lots of room for dancing at The Quay!
Sound limiter - Not a factor as there isn’t one.
Iscoyd Park - Whitchurch
Few venues boast croquet facilities. Fewer still have their own cricket club. Iscoyd Park has both and is a stunning location for any event. Because it sits right on the border, it is actually one of our favourite Cheshire wedding venues to perform at. We have loved playing there and it feels like all the guests think they need to give it their all to match this magnificent venue! We can’t wait to be back and we’ll hopefully see Adrian throw out another banging DJ set to end the night.
The Band Verdict
Acoustics - The room is an unconventional shape but fewer flat surfaces is good news to us.
Dance floor space - Medium sized but importantly the bar is in the same room. Easy for guests to get caught up in the dancing when they are on their way for the next gin.
Sound limiter - Another one where if there is a sound limiter we didn’t notice it.
Nant Gwrtheyrn - Llyn Peninsula
Tucked away at the bottom of a steep, winding road on the Llyn Peninsula, "The Nant" is a former quarrymen's village with some of the most dramatic coastal views in the country. It is steeped in Welsh history and culture. Because it is so secluded down by the sea, it always feels like a private, exclusive party.
The Band Verdict
Acoustics - The main hall features beautiful stone walls. Hard surfaces can sometimes be tricky, but our sound engineer always dials the PA in to make it sound punchy and clear.
Dance floor space - It’s a beautifully long, spacious hall. The layout means guests can be at the bar at the back and still feel completely connected to the band on stage.
Sound limiter - You are at the bottom of a cliff next to the sea! Noise complaints from neighbours aren't exactly a concern here, making it a dream for a lively party band.
St. Gwenfaen’s Hall - Rhoscolyn
Rhoscolyn sits in a beautiful corner of Anglesey. With little in the village asides from a pub and a church it is wonderfully unspoilt. Potentially being this far off the beaten track helps party guests lose their inhibitions as this one sticks in the memory as a wild night. Anglesey is a special island wherever you end up we’ve been fortunate to provide the entertainment as an Anglesey wedding band for several big days there.
The Band Verdict
Acoustics - A relatively small village hall vibe so straight forward for us.
Dance floor space - Perfectly sized for the venue. Big enough for everyone and cosy enough to give it a gig feel once the party gets going.
Sound limiter - it’s a small hall in a tiny village with not much around so not a concern!
